[:en]The Beloved and the Lover are expressing their feelings towards each other. Christ is the lover and we are His beloved. As we grow in our love for Christ, we will encounter both pleasant and painful experiences. We will enjoy His shade (v. 3), His banquets (vs. 4-5), His strength (v. 5), and His tender expression of love (v. 6). But we must also expect mountain and hill (v. 8), winter season (v. 11) and enemies like foxes that come to ruin our work (v. 15)
Be ready and be alert, for He will come (v. 8) and speak (v. 10) to us. Our time together with Him will be like springtime after winter (vs. 11-13) and dawning of a new day. (v. 17).[:]
