[:en]Thoughts from Song of Songs 5[:]

[:en]The lover came to knock his beloved’s door.  She heard his knock and his voice.  She saw his hand but she did not yield to his call immediately.  When she finally opened the door, he was gone leaving behind blessings (v. 5)  She looked for him but could not find him.  She called him but he did not answer (v. 6).  In his absence, she was beaten by the watchmen (v. 7).

Here is how she described her lover: (vs. 10-16)

  1. He is radiant, ruddy and outstanding among ten thousand (v. 10)
  2. His head is purest gold; his hari is wavy and black as a raven
  3. His eyes are like doves by the water streams, washed in milk, mounted like jewels
  4. His cheeks are like beds of spice yeilding perfume
  5. His lips are like lilies dripping with myrrh
  6. His arms are rods of gold set with chrysolite
  7. His body is like polished ivory decorated with sapphires
  8. His legs are pillars of marble set on bases of pure gold
  9. His appearance is like Lebanon, choice as its cedars
  10. His mouth is sweetness itself

Application:

Fix your eyes upon the Lord and be alert to listen to His voice.  Keep your heart close to Him so that you can respond to Him anytime.   Prepare your heart any time, any where and any place to respond to God’s call.  Always have constant fellowship with Him.
