[:en]Isaiah announced God’s judgment on Babylon. The Babylonians swallowed up the Assyrians and took Judah captive. One day, they will be defeated by the Medes and Persians. (vs. 17-22). God is sovereign. He can use heathen nation to do His work.
The fall of Babylon was fulfilled and the city empire was no more. It symbolized the picture of the final day of the Lord when the world will be judged by God. The world today is like Babylon in Isaiah’s day. It seems so successsful and progressive but one day, the whole system will fall.[:]
