[:en]Thoughts from Isaiah 2[:]

[:en]THE MOUNTAIN OF THE LORD (vs. 1-5)

Isaiah was looking to the future kingdom of God.  The Lord’s temple will be established above the hills.  Many people will go up to the mountain of the Lord.  The House of God will be the center of truth.  He will teach us His ways.  His law and Word will go out from Zion.  He will judge between nations and settle disputes among the people.  There will be peace and no conflict.  The house of Jacob will walk in the light of the Lord.

THE DAY OF THE LORD (vs. 6-22)

Judah was no longer working in God’s truth.  They had followed religious belief from the Gentile nations.  They had material wealth and treasures and their land was full of idols.  But on that day, man will be brought low and be humbled.  The Lord alone will be exalted and the idols all totally disappear.  In that day, God will shake the earth and men will flee to the caves in the rocks.  “Stop trusting in man, who has but a breath in his nostrils.  Of what account is he?
