[:en]FROM WORMS TO WAR
A ten-year-old Cleo went fishing with his father. But when he saw the bait with a worm, he was afraid and unable to act.
When the angel of the Lord came to Gideon and told him that God wanted him to lead His poeple in battle, he was fearful. He responded: “How can I save Israel? My clan is the weakest in Manasseh, and I am the least in my family” (Judges 6:12-15). Even God had assured him of His presence, Gideon was fearful and asked for a sign. God responded to Gideon’s request, and the Israelites were successful in battle.
We all have fears of various kinds – from worms to wars. Gideon’s story teaches us that we can be confident that if God asks us to do something, He will give us the strength and power to do it. To take the fear out of living, put your faith in the living God. – (Anne Cetas)[:]
