[:en]Thoughts from Isaiah 29[:]

[:en]The prophet described David’s City – Lion of God as follows:

  1.  A Captured City (vs. 1-8) – Assyria will besiege them and they would be brought low.  But the Lord Almighty will make their enemies become like fine dust and blown chaff when God shall deliver His people.
  2.  A Blinded City (vs. 9-16) – The people of Israel were sightless. They could not read a sealed book nor understand spiritual things.  They honored God with their lips but their hearts were far from Him.  Their worship was made up only of rules taught by men.  They hid their own plans from the Lord and did their work in darkness.  But does the clay know more than the Potter?  Can the pot says of the potter “He knows nothing?”
  3. A Holy City (vs. 17-24) – When Christ returns, God’s people will be redeemed.  They will hear and see His truth.  They will rejoice and honor God keeping His name Holy.
