[:en]Thoughts from Isaiah 38[:]

[:en]Hezekiah contracted  an illness – boil.  It has infected his body and it was at the point of his death.  Hezekiah wept bitterly and turned to God in prayer saying: “Remember, O Lord, how I walked before you faithfully and with wholehearted devotion and have done what is good in your eyes.” (v. 3).  God heard his prayer and promised these: (1)- Add 15 years to his life; (2)- Deliver him from the hand of the king of Assyria and (3)- defend the city of Jerusalem. (vs.5-6)

After his recovery, Hezekiah wrote about the pictures of death.  It was like going through the gates of death (v. 10),  not seeing God nor mankind (v. 11) , a weaver rolling up his life (v. 12), a lion attacking and breaking all his bones (v. 13).  But he looked to the heaven and saw God coming to help him.  God restored his health and forgave his sins.  He praised God for His faithfulness and sang joyful songs with gladness.

May Hezekiah’s experience enables you to appreciate God’s healing power. May you learn to value your life with a new desire to serve and love the Lord.[:]
