[:en]GOD’S AFFIRMATION TO THE SENIORS:
“Even to your old age and grayhairs, I am He. I am He who will sustain you. I have made yu and I will carry you. I will sustain you and I will rescue you” (v. 4)
IDOLS VS. JEHOVAH ( vs. 5-7)
- The idols mut be carried, but Jehovah is a God who carries His people
- The false gods cannot predict the future or control history but Jehovah does both.
- The idols are mand-made but Jehovah made man
- The idols look alike but there is none like Him
- the idols can not hear and do not answer but God hears our prayer and save us from our troubles.
Jehovah is the only true and living god. An idol is a substitute of God. If we value and serve anything — riches, honor, power, art, wisdom, strength — more than God, we are guilty of worshiping idol.
GOD’S AFFIRMATION OF HIS BEING (vs. 9-11)
“I am God and there is no other. I am God and there is none like me. I make known the end from the beginning, from ancient times, what is still to come. I say: My purpose will stand, and I will do all that I please. From the east I summon a bird of prey; from a far off land, a man to fulfill myu purpose. What I have said, that will I bring about; what I have planned, that will I do.”
