[:en]Thoughts from Isaiah 51[:]

[:en]The Lord told His people to recall their spiritual roots – Abraham and Sarah (vs. 1-2) and their exodus from Egypt (v. 10).  God had promised to redeem and care for them.  He told them to consider His marvelous creation.  He stretched out the heaven and laid the foundation of the earth (v. 13).  He churned up the roaring waves of the sea and put out His words to cover them with the shadow of His hand (vs. 15-16).

The Lord had taken the cup of His wrath and defended His people (v. 22).  They will exodus Babylon and return joyfully to Zion (v. 11).  His kingdom will ultimately be established and all Israel’s enemies will be defeated (v. 23)[:]
