[:en]People do not understand why the righteous and devout men perish and are taken away. It is because God wants to spare them from evil so that they may enter into peace by finding rest in death (vs. 1-2)
God condemned the godless society in Judah for woshiping idols, lying, lusting, sacrificing their children, offering drink and grain sacrifices to idols and forgetting Him.
However, there were some dedicated people who still had fellowship with God. They had contrite heart with a lowly spirit. God will comfort them and give them peace.
