[:en]Thoughts from Isaiah 61[:]

[:en]The Year of the Lord’s Favor signalled the ushering in of the year of Jubilee.  It is a time to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release the prisoners from darkness.  It is the time of God to comfort all who mourn, provide for those who grieve in Zion, to bestow on them a crown of beauty, gladness, praise, righteousness and splendor (vs. 1-3).  The land of Judah will be rebuilt.  Aliens will shepherd their flocks and foreigners will work their fields and vineyards.  And the whole nation will be called priest of the land and minsters of God (vs. 4-6).  The people of Israel will receive a double portion of their land  and rejoice in their inheritance and have everlasting joy. (v. 7)  God will make an everlasting covenant and reward their descendants and offspring.  People will see and acknowledge that they are a people the Lord blessed (vs. 8-9)

Let us delight in the Lord and rejoice in our God, for He has clothed us with garments of salvation and dorned us with a robe of righteousness (v. 10)[:]
