[:en]TRUSTING GOD EVEN IF
King Nebuchadnezzar set up an image of gold, ninety feet high and nine feet wide on the plain of Dura in the province of Babylon. Then he commanded everyone to fall down and worship the image of god upon hearing the sound of the horn, flute zither, lyre harp, pipes and all kinds of music. Whoever does not obey will be thrown into a blazing furnace. (Daniel 3:1-3)
Shadrach, Meschach and Abednego refuse to bow down to the golden image. When the king learned about that, he summoned them as asked: “Is it true that you do not serve my gods or worship the image of gold I have set up? If you are not willing to fall down to worship it, you will thrown immediately into a blazing furnace. Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego replied to the king: “If we are thrown into the blazing furnace, the god we serve is able to save us from it, and he will rescue us from your hand, O King. But even if he does not, we want you to know , O King, that we will not serve your gods or worship the image of gold you have set up” (Daniel 3:15-18)
When they were thrown into the blazing furnace, the king saw 4 men walking around in the fire , unbound and unharmed. So the king told them to come out. The fire had not harmed their bodies, nor was a hair of their heads singed; their robes were not scorched, and there was no smell of fire on them. The king praise God and decreed that people of any nation or language who say anything against the God of Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego be cut into pieces and their houses be turned into piles of rubble. ( Daniel 33:25-29)
When you are experienciny excruciating and disheartening moments, remember God’s unchanging goodness, His limitless power and sustaining grace. When situation seems hopeless, be encouraged by the faith of Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego for God is and always will be mighty, trustworthy and good.
