[:en]SCRIPTURE:  GALATIANS 2

“I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ live in me.  The life I live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God who loved me and gave Himself for me” (Galatians 2:20)

Due to the infiltration of some false brothers, Titus, who as a Greek, was compelled to be circumcised.   However, Paul did not give in because he wanted the truth of the gospel to remain.  James, Peter and John had fellowship with Paul and Barnabas and agreed that they were entrusted with the task of preaching the gospel to the Gentiles.

Peter used to eat with the Gentiles, but when certain men came from James arrived, he drew back and separated himself from the Gentiles because he was afraid of those who belonged to the circumcision group.  Other Jews joined him and even Barnabas was led astray.  So Paul  confronted Peter’s hypocrisy in line with the truth of the gospel. (vs. 11-14)

Lesson:  Paul died to the law so that he might live for God.  We must follow his example to let Christ be the center of our life despite of any external obstacles, oppositions, persecutions or rejections.  As we usher in year 2020, let us live by faith in Christ Jesus.
