[:en]SCRIPTURE:  1 PETER 2

“Therefore, rid yourselves of all malice and all deceit, hypocrisy, envy and slander of every kind.  Like newborn babies, crave pure spiritual milk, so that by it, you may grow up in your salvation, now that you have tasted that the Lord is good” (1 Peter 2:1-3)

“But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people belonging to God, that you may declare the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His wonderful light” (1 Peter 2:9)

“Dear friends, I urge you, as aliens and strangers in the world, to abstain from sinful desires, which war against your soul” (1 Peter 2:11)

“Submit yourselves for the Lord’s sake to every authority instituted among men: whether to the king, as the supreme authority or to governors, who are sent by Him to punish those who do wrong and to commend those who do right” (1 Peter 2:14)\

“Live as free men, but do not use your freedom as a cover-up for evil; live as servants of God.  Show proper respect to everyone; Love the brotherhood of believers, fear God, honor the king” (1 Peter 2:16-17)

“He himself bore our sins in His body on the tree, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; by His wounds you have been healed” (1 Peter 2:24)

Grow up in your salvation by having an appetite for pure spiritual milk which is the Word of God.  Rid of all malice, deceit, hypocrisy, envy and slander of any kind.  Jesus is the living stone rejected by men but chosen by God.  Those who believed are being built on Jesus Christ to become a chosen people and royal priesthood.  As a priest, we can bring sacrifice to the Lord through Jesus Christ.

Since our citizenship is in heaven, we must live as servants of God by showing respect for everyone.  Christ is the best example of submission when He entrusted Himself to bore our sins in His body on the tree. Therefore, we should die to sin and live for righteousness.

LESSON:

All believers must feed on His Word, become stones in the temple and serve as priest at the altar.  For we are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation to a people belonging to God.  We are aliens and strangers in the world to follow Christ’s example of submission.  Jesus is the Shepherd and Overseer who cared for our souls.
