[:en]SCRIPTURE:  REVELATION 12

‘Now have come the salvation and the power and the kingdom of our God, and the authority of his Christ.  For the accuser of our brothers, who accuses them before our God day and night has been hurled down” (Revelation 12:10)

This chapter shows 2 forces of conflict:  The Woman and the Dragon.

THE WOMAN (vs. 1-6)

The woman was clothed with the sun and the moon under her feet and a crown of 12 stars in her head.  The woman was pregnant and about to give birth.  After giving birth to a male child, who will rule all the nations with an iron scepter.   Her child was snatched up to God and the woman fled into the desert – a place prepared by God where she might be taken care of for 1,260 days.

THE DRAGON (vs. 7-9)

The dragon is Satan.  Satan, the adversary is described with head, horns and crowns which is the description of the Antichrist.  He is the ancient serpent called the devil (accuser) who tempted Eve to sin.  He is also known as the breast, the murderer who want to destroy Christ.  In Job, we see Satan has access to heaven (Job. 1:6) and in Zechariah, Satan was standing at the right side in heaven to accuse Joshua (Zechariah 3:1).

There was war in heaven.  Michael and his angels are fighting against the dragon and his angels.  The dragon lost and was hurled down with the earth with his agent.

When Satan said: “I will be like the Most High”, he was cast from heaven.  While on earth, Satan enticed King Herod to kill Jesus.  While in the desert, Satan tried to tempt Jesus to sin.  He was unable to kill Christ, so he focuses his attack on Israel.  The Jews were slain in Egypt and Babylon.  They were annihilated during the second World War by the Germans.  Satan wants to exterminate the seed of God, the believing remnant of Israel.  But God protected His people and led them out of Egypt.  God fulfilled His promise and reunite the nation Israel in year 1948.

SUMMARY:

The woman represents Israel who brought the Savior into the world.  The dragon represents Satan who does not want Jesus to be born.  Satan wants to be like the Most High, so he was cast out from heaven together with 1/3 of angels following him.  He is now waging war against the saints.

So what must we do?  We must stand firm in our faith, in the Word of God.  We must obey His command, hold to the testimony of Jesus.  We must ask our Advocate to intercede for us.  Finally, we must love one another and pray for peace in this world.  Now, we must repent of our sins and pray for God’s healing on our land.
