[:en]SCRIPTURE: REVELATION 19
“Hallelujah! Salvation and glory and power belong to our God, for true and just are His judgments. He has condemned the great prostitute who corrupted the earth by her adulteries. He has avenged on her the blood of His servants” (Revelation 19:1-2)
“Hallelujah! For our Lord God Almighty reigns. Let us rejoice and be glad and give him glory! For the wedding of the Lamb has come, and His bride has made herself ready” (Revelation 19:6-7)
“Blessed are those who are invited to the wedding supper of the Lamb!” (Revelation 19:9)
HALLLUJAH (vs. 1-10)
John heard a great multitude in heaven singing four choruses of “Hallelujah”. The word “Hallelujah” (Greek alleluia) means “Praise Jehovah”. It is an anthem of Joy in heaven rejoicing the destruction of Babylon. All heaven voices unite to praise God for His true and just judgment. Handel composed the “Hallelujah Chorus” based on the theme of praising God and giving Him glory because He is on the throne.
The wedding of the Lamb has come. Jesus is the Lamb who paid the price of his blood to redeem us. The church (bride) has to be ready to present herself in this supper by wearing fine linen. Fine linen stands for the righteous acts and faithfulness in life and service.
A RIDER ON THE WHITE HORSE (vs. 11-21)
The rider “Faithful and True” rides a white horse. His eyes are like blazing fire with many crowns on his head. He is dressed in a robe dipped in blood and his name is the Word of God. The armies of heaven were following him riding in white horse and dress in fine white and clean linen. His mouth is a sharp sword to strike down the nations. He will rule them with an iron scepter and tread the winepress of God’s wrath. He is the King of Kings and Lord of Lords.
An angel announces to all birds to gather together to enjoy a great supper of flesh of all people. Then the Beast and kings of the earth and their armies gathered together to make war against the rider on the horse. But the Beast and the false prophets were captured. They were thrown into the fiery lake of burning sulfur. The rest of them were killed with the sword the rider and all the birds ate them.
SUMMARY:
The saints sing Hallelujah because the King of Kings and Lord of Lords is on the throne. He has avenged the blood of His servants. They are celebrating Christ’s victory against the great prostitute. We are purchased by the blood of Jesus, so, all of us ought to praise God and sing Hallelujah.
The marriage supper of the Lamb is ready. Cleansing will be done at the judgment seat of Christ. Are you ready to received reward from Him?
When Christ was on earth, He rode on a humble donkey. He wore a crown of thorns and was mocked and humiliated. His followers abandoned Him. Now Christ is riding on a white horse. He uses sharp sword to strike down nations and rulers with a rod of iron.
There are Two suppers mentioned in this chapter. The Wedding Supper of the Lamb (v. 9) and the Great Supper of God (v. 17). The Wedding Supper of the Lamb is a time of blessings and joy to be enjoyed by the saints. But the Great Supper of God is a time of judgment and sorrow to punish the wicked.
Christ is coming to capture the Beast and the false prophets and cast them into the fiery lake of burning sulfur. He will also take Satan and throw him into the bottomless pit.
Let us acknowledge that Jesus is our King of Kings and Lord of Lords. For He is the sovereign and powerful God that can give us protection and security.
