[:en]SCRIPTURE:  REVELATION 21

” It is done.  I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End.  To him who is thirsty, I will give to drink without cost from the spring of water of life.  He who overcomes will inherit all this, and I will be his God and he will be my son.  But the cowardly, the unbelieving, the vile, the murderers, the sexually immoral, those who practice magic arts, the idolaters and all liars – their place will be in the fiery lake of burning sulfur.  This is the second death” (Revelation 21:7-8)

John saw a new heaven and a new earth.  The Holy City, the new Jerusalem comes down out of heaven from God as a bride.  Then a loud voice saying: “Now the dwelling of God is with men, and he will live with them.  They will be his people and God himself wil be with them and be their God.  He will wipe away tears from their eyes.  There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away” (vs. 3-4)

One of the 7 angels who had the 7 bowls fill with 7 last plagues came and carried John to a great and high mountain.  This is the description of the Holy City, Jerusalem:  (vs. 10-21)

The wall was 144 cubits thick (about 65 meters) and made of pure gold as pure as glass and made of jasper.  And the foundations of the city walls were decorated with every kind of precious stones as follows:  1st -jasper, 2nd – sapphire, 3rd – chalcedony, 4rd – emerald, 5th – sardonyx, 6th – carnelian, 7th – chrysolite, 8th – beryl, 9th – topaz, 10th – chrysoprase, 11th – jacinth, 12th – amethyst.

SUMMARY:

The old creation had passed away.  God is going to renovate the old heaven and earth and  create a new heaven and earth and make everything new.  The New Jerusalem is described as a bride.  In chapter 17, the woman or Beast (Babylonian system) was pictured as a harlot.  The New Jerusalem unites all people in the Old Testament and New Testament.

There will be no “sea”, sun” or “moon” nor temple because God will personally dwell with His people in eternity.  The significance of “no more” is that John was exiled in an island separated from all people.  No sun or moon because God himself is the light.  The glory replaces them all.  There will be no more tears, death or sadness.  The curse is removed and Christ had declared:  It is finished”.  All those belong to Him can enter the new creation except those wicked and sinful people.  Are you prepared to enter the New Jerusalem and enjoy its beauty and blessings?
