SUMMARY:
When the disciples asked Jesus: “Is sin the cause of this man being blind?” Jesus answered: “This happed so that the work of God might be displayed in his behalf” (v. 3)
Sometimes, we may encounter unfortunate events in life without any of our faults. Do not question why because God may use it to fulfill His purpose so that His name will be glorified.
Stages of the man’s knowledge about Jesus:
- “A man called Jesus” (v. 11) – his address to the one who had healed him
- “He is a Prophet” (v./ 17) – his reply when questioned by the Pharisees
- “A man from God” (vs. 31-33) – his testimony of Jesus
- “Lord”(v. 38) – his confession of faith.
How about you? Who is Jesus to you? How will you call Him?
The blind received the truth and was able to see. The Pharisees were self-religious but were blind spiritually. Jesus is the true light. Let us receive Him so that we can have light in our hearts. Let us walk in the light (1 John 1) and let our light shine among men with good deeds so that His name will be glorified.
