The word “Pentecost” means “fiftieth”. The Feast of Pentecost took place 15 days after the Feast of Firstfruits. Firstfruit is a picture of Christ’s resurrection. Passover is a picture of Christ’s death. And Pentecost pictures the coming of the Holy Spirit (1 Cor. 12:13).
The Holy Spirit descended from heaven and filled the believers with the power for witnessing. They spoke in tongues praising God. They had wonderful fellowship together with glad and sincere hearts.[:]
