[:en]SCRIPTURE:  ACTS 3

“By faith in the name of Jesus, this man whom you see and known was made strong.  It is Jesus’ name and the faith that comes through him that has given this complete healing to him as you can all see” (Acts 3:16)

“Repent then and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord: (Acts 3:19)

PETER HEALS THE CRIPPLED BEGGAR (vs. 1-10)

Peter and John went to the temple and saw a man born crippled begging at the temple gate called Beautiful.  Peter told the man: “Silver or gold I do not have, but what I have I give you.  In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, walk” (v. 6).  He took him up and the man can instantly walk.  The man jumped with joy and entered into the temple court praising God.  People who saw him were filled with wonder and amazement to see him walked.

PETER SPEAKS TO THE ONLOOKERS (vs. 11-26)

Peter spoke to the onlookers and accused them of disowning Jesus and killing the Holy and Righteous One.  He asked them to repent, to confess their sins and to accept Christ as their Messiah.  Peter told them that if the nation would repent and receive the Lord, blessings would come to the nation.

LESSONS:

  1.  When the crippled man received healing, he entered the temple and fellowship with Peter and John praising God.  Every Christian who has received grace or blessings from God should know how to worship God and praise Him.
  2. Peter was able to perform miracle in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth.  We can also accomplish great things in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord.
  3. Peter used the healing as an opportunity to preach the gospel.  We must seize every opportunity to share the gospel to unbelievers.
  4. Peter asked the Jews to repent and accept Jesus as their Lord.  Likewise, we should also confess our sins and believe in Jesus Christ.
