THE NEW RESIDENTS OF JERUSALEM (vs. 1-36)
The leaders had settled in Jerusalem, and the rest of the people cast lots to bring one out of every ten to live in Jerusalem, while the remaining nine were to stay in their own towns.
The people consist of: Descendants of Judah, descendants of Benjamin, from the priests, from the Levites, and the Gatekeepers totalling 3,044. this represented the 10% of the male population.
