[:en]SCRIPTURE: ESTHER 9
“The Jews took it upon themselves to establish the custom that they and their descendants and all who join them should without fail observe these two days every year, in the way prescribed and at the time appointed. These days should be remembered and observed in every generation by every family, and in every province and in every city. And these days of Purim should never cease to be celebrated by the Jews, nor should the memory of them die out among their descendants” (Esther 9:27-28)
TRIUMPH OF THE JEWS (vs. 1-17)
When the 12th month arrived, the Jews were ready to fight against their enemies. Esther requested that Haman’s 10 sons be hanged on the gallows. They put to death 300 men in Susa and killed 75k of their enemies but they did not lay their hands on the plunder.
PURIM CELEBRATED (vs. 18-32)
On the 14th day of the month, the Jews rested and rejoiced at God’s deliverance. Mordecai sent letters to all provinces of King Xerxes to observe the Feast of Purim (Purim means lot). It has been celebrated for centuries to testify the power of God and the grace of God towards His people.[:]
