“Mordecai the Jew was second in rank to King Xerxes, prominent among the Jews, and held in high esteem by his many fellow Jews because he worked for the good of his people and spoke up for the welfare of all the Jews” (Esther 10:3)
THE GREATNESS OF MORDECAI (vs. 1-3)
This book ended by proclaiming the greatness of Mordecai. Mordecai was a man of faith who spoke in behalf of the Jews by asking Esther to see the king and plead for mercy. All his actions and power were written in the book of the annals of the kings of Media and Persia. He was highly esteemed because he worked for the good of the people and acted for the welfare of all the Jews.[:]
