[:en]SCRIPTURE:  JOB 33

“Why do you complain to him that he answers none of man’s words?  For God does speak – now one way, now another – though man may not perceive it.  In a dream, in a vision of the night, when deep sleep falls on men as they slumber in their beds, he may speak in their ears and terrify them with warnings, to turn man from wrongdoing and keep him from pride, to preserve his soul from the pit, his life from perishing by the sword” (Job 33:13-18)

Elihu challenged Job to refute him.  He quoted Job’s own words and explained to him that God owed him no explanation of what He was doing.  He may speak in a dream, in a vision of the night (vs. 14-18).  He may speak in warnings to terrify him from pride (vs. 16-17).  He may chasten him with pain and distress (v. 19), or he may reveal to him through people (vs. 31-32)

In times of pain, let us learn to listen to God.[:]
