[:en]SCRIPTURE:  JOB 27

“I will maintain my righteousness and never let go of it; my conscience will not reproach me as long as I live” (Job 27:6)

Job declared that God had denied him justice and made him taste bitterness of soul.  However, he will uphold his integrity without speaking wickedness nor deceit.  He will still maintain his righteousness and conscience.

Job’s description of the judgment of the wicked man:

  1. The godless is without hope when God takes away his life (v. 8)
  2. God will not listen to his cry of distress (v. 9)
  3. Sword is the fate of his children and his offspring will never have enough to eat (v. 14)
  4. The plague will bury those who survive him (v. 15)
  5. His silver is like dust, his clothes like piles of clay, which the righteous will wear and the innocent will divide his silver (vs. 16-17)
  6. He lies down wealthy, but when he opens his eyes, all is gone (v. 19)
  7. Terrors overtake him like a flood; a tempest snatches him away in the night (v. 20)
  8. The east wind carries him off, and he is gone; it sweeps him out of his place (vs. 21)
