[:en]SCRIPTURE: PSALM 40
“I waited patiently for the lord; he turned to me and heard my cry, He lifted me out of the slimy pit, out of the mud and mire; he set my feet on a rock and gave me a firm place to stand. He put a new song in my mouth, a hymn of praise to our God. Many will see and fear and put their trust in the Lord. Many will see and fear and put their trust in the Lord” (Psalm 40:1-3)
“Blessed is the man who makes the Lord his trust, who does not look to to the proud, to those who turn aside to false gods” (Psalm 40:4)
“I desire to do your will, O my God; your law is within my heart” (Psalm 40:8)
“But may all who seek you rejoice and be glad in you; may those who love your salvation always say, ‘The Lord be exalted!'” (Psalm 40:16)
David waited patiently for the Lord when he was down and sinking in mire. God rushed down to pull him out of the pit and set his feet on a rock. He had put a new song in his mouth to praise Him.
The man who makes the Lord his trust can appreciate God’s wonderful work. He also enjoys God’s word. He desires to do God’s will and delights in it.
David proclaimed God’s righteousness, faithfulness and love. He asked God to save him from those who sought to take his life. He knew that God was his helper and deliverer.
Are you suffering from discouragement, anguish, self-pity or anger? Ask God to bring you out and into the choir. Do you put your trust in Him? Is doing His will your delight? Remember that God loves you. He has a perfect plan for your life. So, walk with the Lord.
