[:en]SCRIPTURE:  PSALM 29

“Ascribe to the Lord, O mighty ones, ascribe to the Lord glory and strength.  Ascribe to the Lord the glory due his name; worship the Lord in the splendor of his holiness” (Psalm 29:1-2)

“The Lord gives strength to his people; the Lord blesses his people with peace” (Psalm 29:11)

This Psalm is a poetic description of a storm.  David saw the power and glory of God in the storm.

How did David describe the voice of the Lord?

  1. It is over the waters (v. 3)
  2. It is powerful and majestic (v. 4)
  3. It breaks the cedars in pieces (v. 5)
  4. It strikes with flashes of lightning (v. 7)
  5. It shakes the Desert of Kadesh (v. 8)
  6. It twists the oaks and strips the forests bare (v. 9)

He ended the Psalm by acknowledging God’s sovereignty.  “The Lord sits enthroned over the flood; the Lord is enthroned as King forever.  The Lord gives strength to his people; the Lord blesses his people with peace (vs. 11-12)

Are you going through a storm?  Can you see God’s power and glorify Him in the midst of the storm?  If your life is stormy now, worship Him and wait on Him.  The storm will pass and He will bless you with peace.,[:]
