[:en]SCRIPTURE:  PSALM 24

“The earth is the Lord’s and everything in it, the world, and all who live in it; for he founded upon the seas and established it upon the waters” (Psalm 24:1-2)

“Who may ascend the hill of the Lord?  Who may stand in his holy place?  He who has clean hands and a pure heart, who does not lift up his soul to an idol or swear by what is false.  He will receive blessing from the Lord and vindication from God his Savior” (Psalm 14:3-5)

Everything in the earth belongs to the Lord.  It reminds us that we are stewards and not owners.  Therefore, we have no reason to be proud of what we have.  Instead, we should be humble knowing that man can receive nothing unless it has been given to him from heaven (John 3:27).  Since the world belongs to God, it does not belong to the Devil either.  Jesus is on the throne of heaven and He is the one controlling everything.

Who may ascend the hill of the Lord and stand in His holy place?

  1.  Those who have clean hands and pure hearts
  2. Those who do not worship idols
  3. Those who do not swear by what is false
  4. Those who seek the Lord.

Therefore, we should lift our hands and praise God.  For He is the King, the King of glory.  He rules with grace and glory.  And He blesses those who seek his face.

This psalm was written to commemorate David’s returning the ark to Jerusalem.  It was sung by a choir as the people entered the gates of the city, shouting: “Who is He. this King of the glory?  The Lord Almighty – He is the King of glory”.

When Jesus, our Chief Shepherd will return to claim His inheritance, He will defeat all the nations of the world at Armageddon (Rev. 19:19-21).  He will return to take the church to heaven (1 Thes. 4:13-18) followed by 7 years of Tribulations on the earth.  Then, He will judge the evil.  There will be a renewed earth, a restored Israel and a righteous kingdom for a thousand years (Rev. 20:1-5) filled with the glory of God.

Have you received the Good Shepherd as your Savior?  Do you let the Great Shepherd guide your life?  Are you ready to meet the Chief Shepherd when He comes?
