[:en]SCRIPTURE: PSALM 66
“Shout with joy to God, all the earth! Sing the glory of his name; make his praise glorious!” (Psalm 66:1-2)
“Come and see what God has done, how awesome his works in man’s behalf!” (Psalm 66:5)
“I will come to your temple with burnt offerings and fulfill my vows to you, vows my lips promised and my mouth spoke when I was in trouble” (Psalm 66:13-14)
“If I had cherished sin in my heart, the Lord would not have listened, but God has surely listened and heard my voice in prayer” (Psalm 66:18-19)
“Praise be to God, who has not rejected my prayer or withheld his love from me!” (Psalm 66:20)
The Psalmist told us to shout with joy to God, to sing praises to His name and proclaim His glorious deeds.
WHAT GOD HAD DONE FOR THE PEOPLE OF ISRAEL
- He turned the sea into dry land (v. 6)
- He rules forever by His power and watched the nation (v. 7)
- He preserved the lives of His people (v. 9)
- He tested and refined them like silver (v. 10)
- He brought them into the net with burdens on their back and men over their heads. But they were brought out into a place of abundance (v. 12)
HOW CAN WE REPAY GOD’S GOODNESS?
- Come to His temple with burnt offerings and fulfill our vows to the Lord (vs. 13-15)
- Praise Him with our tongues (v. 17
- We must not cherish sin in our hearts (v. 18)
- Pray to God (v. 19)
Let us come and see the awesome deeds of God. Let us sing a glorious song of praise to the Lord. Let us bring our offerings and fulfill our vows. Let us come and listen to His wonderful words of salvation.
