[:en]SCRIPTURE: PSALM 67
“May God be gracious to us and bless us and make his face shine upon us, that your ways may be known on earth, your salvation among all nations” (Psalm 67:1-2)
“May the peoples praise you, O God; may all the peoples praise you. May the nations be glad and sing for joy, for you rule the peoples justly and guide the nations of the earth” (Psalm 67:3-4)
WISHES OF THE PSALMIST:
- May God be gracious to us and bless us. May He make His face shine upon us (v. 1)
- May God’s ways be known on earth and His salvation be among all nations (v. 2)
- May all the people praise God (vs. 3, 5)
- May all the nations be glad and sing for joy (v. 4a)
- May God rule the people justly and guide the nations of the earth (v. 4b)
- May the land yield its harvest (v. 6)
- May God bless us (v. 7a)
- May all the ends of the earth fear Him (v. 7b)
This is a missionary psalm urging every believer to share the gospel to the world. The lost walk in darkness and need God’s light to shine upon them. They need the joy that only Jesus can give. They need guidance from God in order to walk in righteousness. And righteousness can only come through faith in Christ. When God’s salvation is known among all the nations, God will bless them and the ends of the earth shall fear Him and praise Him.
