[:en]SCRIPTURE: PSALM 91
“He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty” (Psalm 91:1)
“I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust” (Psalm 91:2)
“If you make the Most High your dwelling – even the Lord, who is my refuge – then no harm will befall you, no disaster will come near your tent. For He will command His angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways; they will lift you up in their hands, so that you will not strike your foot against a stone” (Psalm 91:9-12)
“He will call upon me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble, I will deliver him and honor him. With long life will I satisfy him and show him my salvation” (Psalm 91:15-16)
The Psalmist said that the safest place in the world is under the shadow of the wings of the Almighty (vs. 1-2). His feathers will cover you, His wings will be your refuge and His faithfulness will be your shield and rampant. “Under His wings” means at the mercy seat in the Holy of Holies. It is the place where God is present, where His glory is revealed and where He gives us His guidance and show us His will.
What benefits can you get if you are under the shadow of His wings?
- You will be saved from Satan’s temptation (v. 3a)
- You will have protection against the deadly pestilence (vs. 3, 6a)
- You will be covered safely with His feathers (v. 4)
- You will not fear the terrors of the night nor the arrow that flies by night (v. 5a)
- You will not fear the plague that destroys at midday (v. 6b)
- No harm will befall you and no disaster will come near your tent (v. 10)
- Angels will guard all your ways and lift you up (vs. 11-12)
- You will tread upon the lion and the cobra ; and trample the great lion and serpent (v. 13)
- God will answer you and be with you in trouble (v. 15)
- He will satisfy you with long life and show you His salvation (v. 16)
What a privilege to be under God’s care. Come into His presence and live in the Holy of Holies under the shadow of the Almighty. Be a responsible recipient of God’s security and a participant in God’s victory. Start it today![:]
