[:en]SCRIPTURE:  PSALM 119 (Verses 65-96)

“Teach me knowledge and good judgment, for I believe in your commands” (Psalm 119:66)

“The law from your mouth is more precious to me than thousands of pieces of silver and gold” (Psalm 119:72)

“May your unfailing love be my comfort, according to your promise to your servant.  Let your compassion come to me that I may live, for your law is my delight” (Psalm 119:76-77)

“Preserve my life according to your love, and I will obey the statutes of your mouth” (Psalm 119:88)

“Your word, O Lord, is eternal; it stands firm in the heavens.  Your faithfulness continues through all generations; your established the earth, and it endures” (Psalm 119:89-90)

TETH (vs. 65-72)

God’s Word is true riches.  It is better than thousands of pieces of gold and silver.   When we think of Achan in Joshua, God’s commandment was not to take any spoils from the city of Jericho.  But Achan took them and buried under his tent.  He chose gold and silver rather than obeying God’s command.  Judas also chose 30 pieces of silver to betray Jesus.  In contrast, when Abraham went out and led his army to fight against the king of Sodom to a victory, the king of Sodom said to Abram: “Give me the people and keep the goods for yourself”.  But Abram said to the king of Sodom: “I have raised my hand to the Lord God Most High, Creator of heaven and earth and have taken an oath that I will accept nothing belonging to you not even a thread or the thong of a sandal, so that you will never be able to say, ‘ I made Abram rich'” (Gen. 14:21-23).  Abraham kept his testimony clean by obeying God.

Today, you must make a choice.  You can seek the Kingdom of God and His righteousness or you can seek the Kingdom of earth and riches.  Would you rather have God’s Word than pieces of gold and silver?

YODH (vs. 73-80)

We are made in God’s image.  He has plans for our lives before we were born.  Each person is unique.  So, the maker made a manual of instruction – the Bible – for us to follow.  His Word teaches us how to use our hands, feet, eyes, ear, and tongue.  The Bible is the operation manual for our life.  Are you reading the instruction manual for your everyday living”

KAPH (vs. 81-88)

The Psalmist was experiencing hardship in his life.  His soul fainted and his eyes failed.  His was like a wineskin in a smoke.  The arrogant digged pit for him to drop into.  What did he do?  He turned to God.  He put his hope in His word and seek comfort from Him.  He believed in the faithfulness of God to preserve his life and revive his soul.

If you encounter days when everything seems to go wrong, remember to turn to God.  Let Him be your hope, comfort and strength.  Thank Him for His faithfulness.

LAMEDH (VS. 89-96)

The Psalmist described God’s Word as laws, precepts, statutes and commands.  It is true and eternal.  “Heaven and earth will pass away but my Word will by no means pass away” (Mat. 24:35)

God’s Word is unchangeable.  It stands firm in heaven (v. 89).  God’s commands are boundless.  It teaches us how to live our lives, how to solve problems, how to deal with our sins and how to have eternal life.

If you want to have a solid foundation in this unstable world, trust God’s Word.  God created the world and run the world through His Word.  The same Word will also govern your life and make it secure.
