[:en]SCRIPTURE: PSALM 119 (Verses 145-176)
“Hear my voice in accordance with your love; preserve my life, O Lord, according to your laws” (Psalm 119:149)
“Defend my cause and redeem me; preserve my life according to your promise” (Psalm 119:154)
“Your compassion is great, O Lord; preserve my life according to your laws” (Psalm 119:156)
“All your words are true; all your righteous laws are eternal” (Psalm 119:160)
“Great peace have they who love your law, and nothing can make them stumble” (Psalm 119:165)
“I obey your statutes, for I love them greatly. I obey your precepts and your statutes, for all my ways are known to you” (Psalm 119:167-168)
QOPH (vs. 145-152)
The Psalmist said: “I rise before the dawn and cry for help. I have put my hope in your word. My eyes stay open through the watches of the night that I may meditate on your promises” (vs. 147-148). He got up in the morning to pray and read His word. At night, he also meditate on the scriptures.
Jesus Christ also prayed early in the morning. On the Mount of Transfiguration, Peter, John and James were with Him but they fall asleep (Luke 98:32)
Let us approach the Lord in the morning and night by praying and meditating on His word. The word of God is the key to open and lock the day to keep you safe.
RESH (vs. 153-160)
The Psalmist was pleading God to defend his cause and preserve his life according to His promise. He considered Him as his greatest advocate who can handle the dispute, who can give him comfort and set him free.
If you are undergoing uncomfortable situation of being misunderstood and criticized, let God accomplish your deliverance. Let Him handle your dispute and put your hope in His word.
SIN AND SHIN (vs. 161-168)
The Psalmist rejoiced in His promises like one who finds great treasures. He loved the laws because it gave him peace. He followed His commands to obtain salvation. He obeyed His statutes and precepts to keep his ways straight.
By studying His word, we can find great treasures to enrich our lives. We can fight and win the battle and experience great joy.
TAW (vs. 169-176)
God’s word has the power to transform our lives. Here is what the Psalmist said about His word:
- His word gives me understanding
- His word assures me of his promise
- His word teaches me to follow
- His commands are righteous
- His precepts can help me
- His laws are my delight
- His laws can sustain me
- His command protects me.
Take time to pray and read the Word of God. Turn the statutes into songs. Delight in God’s law and declare God’s praise. Let His word transform your life to become His witness so that people may come to know the Lord Jesus Christ as their Savior.[:]
