[:en]SCRIPTURE: PSALM 123
“I lift up my eyes to you, to you whose throne is in heaven. As the eyes of slaves look to the hand of their master, as the eyes of a maid look to the hand of her mistress, so our eyes look to the Lord our God, till he shows us his mercy” (Psalm 123:1-2)
“Have mercy on us, O Lord, have mercy on us, for we have endured much contempt. We have endured much ridicule from the proud, much contempt from the arrogant” (Psalm 123:3-4)
WHAT SHOULD YOU DO WHEN YOUR LIFE IS DISTURBING?
- Lift up your eyes to the Lord whose throne is in heaven (vs. 1-2) – Know that He is a sovereign God, the creator of the heavens and earth. You will be discouraged if you look at the enemy. So, look by faith to God who reigns the universe.
- Look to the hand of God (v. 2) – He is our master who is sufficient to provide our needs and care for us. He is generous to give us good and perfect gifts.
- Look to the Lord to obtain mercy (v. 3) – As a merciful God, He is available for us when our heart is filled with pain from the ridicule of the proud and contempt of the arrogant. Let Him provide you with the strength to endure the enemy’s words of scorn and the hardship of life.
