[:en]SCRIPTURE: PSALM 148
“Praise the Lord. Praise the Lord from the heavens, praise him in the heights above” (Psalm 148:1)
“Let them praise the name of the Lord, for his name alone is exalted; his splendor is above the earth and the heavens” (Psalm 148:13)
WHO SHOULD PRAISE THE LORD?
- The Heavens (vs. 1-6) – it includes the angels and his heavenly host; the sun, moon and waters above the skies .
- The Earth (vs. 7-10) – it includes the great sea creatures, all ocean depths, lightning and hail, snow and clouds, stormy winds, mountains and hills, fruit trees and all cedars, wild animals and all cattle, small creatures and flying birds.
- All People (vs. 11-12) – it includes kings of the earth and all nations, princes and all rulers young men and maidens, old men and children.
The reason why we should praise the name of the Lord is because of His Word. For he commanded and they were created. His word creates (v. 5), His Word establishes (v. 6a), and His word will never pass away (v. 6b)
Are you praising the Lord for His creation and His grace?
