“Praise the Lord. Sing to the Lord a new song, his praise in the assembly of the saints” (Psalm 149:1)
“Let the saints rejoice in this honor and sing for joy on their beds” (Psalm 149:5)
Praise the Lord with a new song. The Psalmist told us to have a new experience with the Lord so that we will have a new song of praise for Him.
WHERE SHALL WE SING SONGS OF PRAISE TO THE LORD?
- In the assembly of the saints (v. 1)
- On our beds (v. 5)
- At the battlefield (vs. 6-7)
HOW TO PRAISE THE LORD?
- With dancing and make music with tambourine and harp (v. 3)
- With songs of joy (v. 5)
As we go through our lives with valley and mountaintop, as we experience our lives with difficulty or abundance, we should learn to sing and rejoice. We should sing at church as we worship Him. We should sing aloud on beds when we are resting or recuperating from an illness. We should also sing in the midst of battle that we are fighting. For the Lord takes delight in His people and crowns the humble with salvation (v. 4). Let us find a new song to praise the Lord![:]
