[:en]SCRIPTURE: PSALM 127
“Unless the Lord builds the house, its builders labor in vain. Unless the Lord watches over the city, the watchmen stand guard in vain. In vain you rise early and stay up late, toiling for food to eat – for he grants sleep to those he loves” (Psalm 127:1-2)
“Sons are a heritage from the Lord, children a reward from him. Like arrows in the hands of a warrior are sons born in one’s youth” (Psalm 127:3-4)
Jesus said: “Without me, you can do nothing (John 15:5). Solomon in this Psalm also said: “Unless the Lord builds the house, its builders labor in vain” (v. 1). Whether we are building or guarding or toiling, if the Lord is not with us, all our efforts are a waste and in vain.
Children are a gift and a heritage. They are wealth and weapons from the Lord. So, we should protect them, train them, invest them with good education and teach them God’s ways. Children are weapons “like arrows in the hand of a warrior (v. 4). We should raise them to be able to fight the Lord’s battle. Keep them polished and sharp. Let them enjoy the joy of a happy home. Prepare them for God’s ministry and rejoice at this wonderful treasure from God.[:]
