[:en]SCRIPTURE:  PSALM  129

“Plowmen have plowed my back and made their furrows long.  But the Lord is righteous; he has cut me free from the cords of the wicked” (Psalm 129:3-4)

In this Psalm the Psalmist described personal suffering by using the picture of plowing.  People were oppressing him and plowing his back like a dirty field, treating him like dirt.

IF YOU ARE IN SUCH KIND OF SITUATION, WHAT SHOULD YOU DO?

  1.  Accept it as from the Lord.  Plowing is preparation for a harvest.  So, be sure to plant the right kind of seed.  If you plant seeds of revenge, hatred and malice, your harvest will be bitter.  But if you plant love, peace and patience in your heart, your harvest will be blessings from above.
  2. Trust the Lord to help you.  The Psalmist trusted the Lord’s righteousness to cut him free from the cords of the wicked.
  3. Wait upon the Lord.  God will work in your behalf in His time.  Your enemies will be put to shame.  They will be like grass that withers while God’s blessings will be upon you.
