[:en]SCRIPTURE: PSALM 130
“I wait for the Lord, my soul waits, and in his word I put my hope” (Psalm 130:5)
“O Israel, put your hope in the Lord, for with the Lord is unfailing love and with him is full redemption” (Psalm 130:7)
THE PSALMIST TRUSTED THE LORD IN MANY SITUATIONS:
- Out of the depths – he cried out for His mercy during times of despair and discouragement (vs. 1-2)
- In the court – he could not stand before the Lord with the record of his sins. But Jesus paid the penalty and forgave his sins (vs. 3-4)
- During the night – he was waiting for the Lord more than watchmen waiting for the morning. When the sun rrose, God gave him hope for the new day (vs. 5-6)
- While being enslaved – Bounded by sins, the Savior came to redeem him and gave salvation to Israel (vs. 7-8)
When you are down and without defense, when you are in dark and without hope, remember to turn to God. Seek His mercy. He will hear you and help you to see you through.[:]
