“Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and your plans will succeed” (Proverbs 16:3)
“Through love and faithfulness sin is atoned for; through the fear of the Lord a man avoids evil” (Proverbs 16:65)
“Better a little with righteousness than much gain with injustice” (Proverbs 16:8)
“In his heart a man plans his course, but the Lord determines his steps” (Proverbs 16:9)
“Honest scales and balances are from the Lord; all the weights in the bag are of his making” (Proverbs 16:11)
“Pride goes before destruction, a haughty spirit before a fall” (Proverbs 16:18)
“Pleasant words are a honeycomb, sweet to the soul and healing to the bones” (Proverbs 16:24)
“A perverse man stirs up dissension, and a gossip separates close friends” (Proverbs 16:218)

INSTRUCTIONS FOR WISE LIVING
- God weighs the plans and motive of man’s plan (vs. 1-2, 9)
- Commit to the Lord whatever you do and your plans will succeed (v. 3)
- Fear the Lord to avoid doing evil (v. 6)
- Be righteous with a little rather than having gain with injustice (v. 8)
- Be honest and truthful (vs. 11-13)
- Get wisdom and understanding (v. 16)
- Pride destructs and a haughty spirit makes him fall (vs. 18-19)
- Heed instruction and trust in the Lord (v. 20)
- Be discerning and understanding. Speak pleasant words that promote instruction (vs. 21-24)
- Do not gossip and do not stir up dissension (v. 28)
- Control your temper and be patient (v. 33)
