“Hatred stirs up dissension, but love covers over all wrongs” (Proverbs 10:12)
“The wages of the righteous bring them life; but the income of the wicked brings them punishment” (Proverbs 10:16)
“When words are many, sin is not absent, but he who holds his tongue is wise” (Proverbs 10:19)
“The blessings of the Lord brings wealth, and he adds no trouble to it” (Proverbs 10:22)
“The fear of the Lord adds length to life, but the years of the wicked are cut short” (Proverbs 10:27)
WISE VS. FOOLISH
- The wise brings joy to his father, but the foolish cause grief to his mother (v. 1)
- The wise in heart accepts commands, but a chattering fool comes to ruin (v. 8)
- The wise walks securely, but the foolish takes crooked paths (v. 9)
- The wise have discernment, but the foolish lack judgment (v. 13)
- Wise men store up knowledge, but the mouth of a fool invites ruin (v. 14)
- The wise holds his tongue, but the fool has many words (v. 19)
- The wise delights in wisdom, but a fool finds pleasure in evil conduct (v. 23)
RIGHTEOUS VS. WICKED
- The Lord does not let the righteous go hungry, but he thwarts the cravings of the wicked (v. 3)
- Blessings crown the head of the righteous, but violence overwhelms the mouth of the wicked” (v. 6)
- The memory of the righteous will be a blessing, but the name of the wicked will rot (v. 7)
- The mouth of the righteous is a foundation of life, but violence overwhelms the mouth of the wicked (v. 11)
- The wages of the righteous bring them life, but the income of the wicked brings them punishment (v. 16)
- The tongue of the righteous is choice silver, but the heart of the wicked is of little value (v. 20)
- The lips of the righteous nourish many, but fools die for lack of judgment (v. 21)
- The desire of the righteous will be granted, but what the wicked dreads will overtake him (v. 24)
- The righteous stand firm forever, but the wicked will be swept away by the storm (v. 25)
- The righteous fear the Lord and add length to life, but the years of the wicked are cut short (v. 28)
- The prospect of the righteous is joy, but there is no hope for the wicked (v. 28)
- The righteous has the ways of the Lord as his refuge, but it is ruin for the wicked (v. 29)
- The righteous will never be uprooted, but the wicked will not remain in the land (v. 30)
- The mouth of the righteous brings forth wisdom, but a perverse tongue of the wick will be cut out (v. 31)
- The lips of the righteous know what is fitting, but the mouth of the wicked is perverse (v. 32)
DILIGENCE VS. LAZINESS
- Diligent hands bring wealth, but lazy hands make a man poor (v. 4)
- The diligent gathers crop in summer, but the lazy sleeps during harvest (v. 5)
- The diligent has wealth as their fortified city, but the lazy was ruined by poverty (v. 15)
