[:en]SCRIPTURE:  SONG OF SONGS 8

“Daughters of Jerusalem, I charge you:  Do not arouse or awaken love until it so desires” (Song of Songs 8:4)

“Place me like a seal over your heart, like a seal on your arm; for love is as strong as death, its jealousy unyielding as the grave.  It burns like blazing fire, like mighty flame” (Song of Songs 8:6)

“Many waters cannot quench love; rivers cannot wash if away.  If one were to give all the wealth of his house for love, it would be utterly scorned” (Song of Songs 9:7)

The Beloved is having an imaginary love.  She loves someone and thought of that person without personally experience love with him (vs. 1-2).  Then, she feels being loved with his left arm under her head and his right arm embracing her (vs. 2-3).  Now, she is cherishing love with him with seal over their heart and arms.  It burns like a blazing fire and mighty flame illustrating the power of love which nothing can quench it.  And the wealth illustrates the preciousness of love (vs. 6-7).  Then, there is a picture of a family protecting a young daughter until she is old enough to mary.  They will build a tower on her if she is a wall.  They will enclose her with panel of cedar if she is a door (vs. 8-9).  Lastly, the lover must listen to each others voice (vs. 13-14).

True love must not remain only in the mind.  It has to be fulfilled in life.  Loving Christ must not be imaginary.  We must experience it personally through communion and worship.  Express your affection to the Lord.  Seal it until death.  Establish that relationship by listening to His voice through His Word and the Holy Spirit.
