“My heart cries out over Moab; her fugitives flee as far as Zoar, as far as Eglath Shelishiyah, They go up the way to Luhith, weeping as they go; on the road to Hormaim they lament their destruction” (Isaiah 15:5

“So the wealth they have acquired and stored up , they carry away over the Ravine of the Poplars” (Isaiah 15:7)

A PROPHECY AGAINST MOAB (vs. 1-9)

The nation of Moab was a descendant of Lot’s incestrous union with one of his daughters (Gen. 19:30-38).  It is a proud nation that depends on its might.  When the Assyrians invaded Moabites, they were totally destroyed in a night.  People were wearing sack clothes weeping, fleeing, and lamenting.  “The waters dried up, the grass is withered and the vegetation is gone.  All their wealth were carrying away” (vs. 6-7)[:]
