[:en]SCRIPTURE: ISAIAH 22
“You counted the buildings in Jerusalem and tore down houses to strengthen the wall. You built a reservoir between the two walls for the water of the Old Pool, but you did not look to the One who made it, or have regard for the One who planned it long. (Isaiah 22:10-11)
A PROPHECY ABOUT JERUSALEM
Isaiah saw a vision when Jerusalem will be attacked by the Assyrians. He saw leaders being captured and taken prisoner. The leaders did not depend on God but on their defenses.
Sheba, who was in charge of the palace was corrupt. He used his office for personal gain and brought disgrace to his mater’s houses. God was going to oust him from his position. He will die in captivity.
Eliahim, son of Hilkiah was a servant of God who will be a father to the people in Jerusalem. He will be given authority – the key to open and shut and a seat of honor for the house of his father.[:]
