[:en]SCRIPTURE:  JEREMIAH 12

“You are always righteous, O lord, when I bring a case before you.  Yet I would speak with you about your justice:  Why does the way of the wicked prosper?  Why do all the faithless live at ease?” (Jeremiah 12:1)

“Your brothers, your own family – even they have betrayed you; they have raised a loud cry against you.  Do not trust them, though they speak well of you” (Jeremiah 12:6)

“I will forsake my house, abandon my inheritance; I will give the one I love into the hands of her enemies” (Jeremiah 12:7)

“They will sow wheat but reap thorns; they will wear themselves out but gain nothing.  So bear the shame of your harvest because of the Lord’s fierce anger” (Jeremiah 12:13)

Jeremiah asked God: “Why does the way of the wicked prosper?  Who do all the faithless live at ease? (v. 1)  God gave his answer by saying that serving God has to prepare trials ahead.  It gets more and more difficult as in going racing with men to raising with horses.  For this is the only way we can mature in life and services.

The enemies were coming like vultures eating a corpse or strangers tramping down a vineyard or garden.  Although God chastens but He is still compassionate to His people.  He promised to judge the invading nations and free them from exile and return to their land.[:]
