[:en]SCRIPTURE:  EZEKIEL 14

“Therefore, say to the house of Israel, “This is what the Sovereign Lord says:  Repent!  Turn from your idols and renounce all your detestable practices!” (Ezekiel 14:6)

“Son of man, if a country sins against me by being unfaithful and I stretch out my hand against it to cut off its food supply and send famine upon it and kill its men and their animales, even if these three men – Noah, Daniel and Job were in it, they could save only themselves by their righteousness, declares the Sovereign Lord.” (Ezekiel 14:13)

“For this is what the Sovereign Lord says:  How much worse will it be when I send against Jerusalem my four dreadful judgements – sword and famine and wild  beasts and plague – to kill its men and their animals!” (Ezekiel 14:21)

IDOLATERS CONDEMNED

The false prophets and elders in Babylon had idols in their hearts.  They pretended to be spiritual by inquiring from Ezekiel but God sees the wickedness in their faces.  He told His servant the truth – that is”  Repent!  Turn from your detestable practices!” (v. 6)  Otherwise, God will destroy and cut them off  from among the people.

JUDGMENT INESCAPABLE

God would stretch his hand to cut off its food supply and send famine to kill its men and animals if a country is unfaithful and sins against Him.  Before, Noah saved his family.  Daniel rescued his friends and Job prayed for his friends.  But, even Noah, Daniel and Job were in Jerusalem, they could only save themselves by their righteousness.  Nobody could save Jerusalem from the four dreadful judgment of God – sword, famine, wild beast and plague.

God sees our character and conduct.  If we live for the glory of God, we need not fear the judgment of God.[:]
