[:en]SCRIPTURE: LAMENTATION 5
“Joy is gone from our hearts; our dancing has turned to mourning. The crown has fallen from our head. Woe to us, for we have sinned! Because of this our hearts are faint, because of these things our eyes grow dim for Mount Zion, which lies desolate, with jackals prowling over it” (Lamentation 5:15-18)
“You, O Lord, reign forever; your throne endures from generation to generation. Whjy do you always forget us? Why do you forsake us so long? Restore us to yourself, O Lard, that we may return; renew our days as of old, unless you have utterly rejected us and are angry with us beyond measure” (Lamentation 5:19-22)
This is the last chapter of Lamentation. Now the people prayed to God and escribed their reproaches as follows:
- Our inheritance have been turned over to alien (v. 2)
- We have been orphans and fatherless, our mothers like widows (v. 3)
- We must buy water and wood (v. 4)
- We are weary because the people pursue us. (v. 5)
- We are submitted to Egypt and Assyria (v. 6)
- We are bearing punishment from our father’s sin (v. 7)
- We have been captured as slaves (v. 8)
- We get our bread at the risk of being killed by sword (v. 9)
- We are suffering from hunger (v. 10)
- Women and virgins have been ravished (v. 11)
- No respect were given to princes and elders (v. 12)
- Young men toil at the milestones and boys stagger under loads of wood (v. 13)
- Joy is gone and mourning replaces dancing (v. 13)
God is holy and righteous. He is against sin. If we sin, He is going to chasten us because he loves us. So, no matter how hopeless you feel, no matter how difficult your present situation is, God is still in control! He will take your out of the furnace and give you a new start. Remember this: HE WILL NEVER FORSAKE YOU![:]
