[:en]SCRIPTURE: JONAH 2
“In my distress I called to the Lord, and he answered me. From the depths of the grave I called for help, and you listened to my cry” (Jonah 2:2-3)
“To the roots of the mountains I sank down; the earth beneath barred me in forever, But you brought my life up from the pit, O Lord my God. When my life was ebbing away, I remembered you, Lord, and my prayer rose to you, to your holy temple” (Jonah 2:6-7)
?But I, with a song of thanksgiving, will sacrifice to you, What I have vowed I will make good. Salvation comes from the Lord” (Jonah 2:9)
JONAH’S PRAYER
When Jonah was inside the fish, he prayed to God to deliver him. He confessed his sins of disobedience and in His mery, God graciously forgave him. The Lord commanded the fish to vomit Jonah out into the dry land.
Trouble begets us when we run away from God. Jonah learned that he could not escape from God’s will. So, he ran back to ask forgiveness from the Lord. Let us remember that we will never go wrong if we follow God’s Word.
