“Surely the day is coming; it will burn like a furnace. All the arrogant and every evildoer will be stubble, and the day that is coming will set them on fire,” says the Lord Almighty. “Not a root or a branch will be left to them. But for you who revere my name, the sun of righteousness will rise with healing in its rays. And you will go out and frolic like well-fed calves” (Malachi 4:1-2)
THE DAY OF THE LORD (vs. 1-6)
The day of the Lord is a fierce judgment day on the earth. The fire will burn like furnace to the wicked. But the son of righteousness will rise with healing to those who revere His name. God will send prophet Elijah before that great and dreadful day to minister for Him. This was fulfilled in a spiritual sense of John the Baptist (Luke 1:16-17, Mat. 17:10-13). The Old Testament ends with the word “Curse”. But at the end of Revelation 22:3, it says: “No longer will there be any curse” Jesus was made a curse for us when he died on the cross (Gal. 3:13).
