Our Daily Scripture – 8/10/22

SCRIPTURE:  2 TIMOTHY 3

BIBLE VERSES:

But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days.  People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good,  treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God — having a form of godliness but denying its power. Have nothing to do with such people.” ( 2 Timothy 3:1-5)

But as for you, continue in what you have learned and have become convinced of, because you know those from whom you learned it, and how from infancy you have known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus.” ( 2 Timothy :14-16)

All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness,  so that the servant of God[a] may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.” (2 Timothy 3:16-17)

  6. His love

Paul put important emphasis on the Holy Scripture which are able to make us wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus.  The holy Scripture has the following functions to equip us for good work:  teaching, rebuking, correcting, training in righteousness.

THOIUGHTS:

HOW TO LIVE FOR CHRIST IN THE TERRIBLE TIMES:

  1. Expect the coming of perilous times;
  2. Beware of the godlessness in the last days;
  3. Discern what is good and evil;
  4. Follow the right example;
  5. Watch for counterfeit Christians who had infiltrated the church and create divisions;
  6. Make Bible your weapon to defeat deception.

Continue to be faithful to the Word of God.  The Bible is the inspired word of God with salvation and Christian living as its purpose.  It is profitable for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness.  It enables the child of God to become mature Christians and equip the saints to be servants of God.

Today, we are in the Last Days.  Spend time in God’s Word to build up your life and reflect the foundation of your Christian faith.  Develop a plan of daily devotion by reading God’s Word and  prayer.

One of the purpose of the Scripture is to equip us to do good deeds.  We should not study God’s word simply to increase our knowledge or win an argument.  We should study the Bible so that we will know how to do Christ’s work in this world.
